The Buckhead Heritage Society hired the interpretive collaborative Signature Design to develop an interpretive program that would engage passers-by with history about Atlanta’s Buckhead community.
The team came up with a two-part solution:
One sign details Buckhead’s history, including the historic Buckhead Theatre. The other is a montage of historical photographs. When visitors stand at the correct spot, they can peer through the translucent edges of to blend the historical scene with the contemporary landscape around the theatre. If cigarette butts are any indicator, it looks like people are stopping to read!
My responsibilities included layout design, image editing, outdoor typography, and meeting with clients and fabricators.
